Alan Douglas who scored a brace and laid on another goal in a brilliant outing as Guangzhou battled back from a 4-0 deficit to make it 5-5 and force a penalty shootout where they ultimately fell.
Also in the fray for the honour were Urawa Red Diamonds’ Toshiyuki Takagi and Al Hilal’s Carlos Eduardo - both of whom were impressive in their respective teams’ games this past week.
The fans made their voice count as Alan received 50% of the votes while Eduardo was backed by 33% of the voters. Eisa remained a distant third with just 17% votes to his name.
