After all, while some games got some improvements on PS5, Bloodborne was not one of them. Even on PS5, the game is locked to 30 FPS and can only run at 1080p. Visuals aren’t everything, of course, and Bloodborne is just as much fun on PS5 as it is on PS4. That said, for those who want to see Bloodborne in the glory of 4K and 60 FPS, the below fan-made video is right up their alley.

YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits (as shared first by Screen Rant) shows 10+ minutes of simulated gameplay, with the game running at 4K 60 FPS. The gameplay goes through the Bloodborne’s hunter’s first steps into Central Yharnam all the way to the Cleric Beast. As one would expect, the gameplay looks much smoother and the 4K brings out a ton of detail in Yharnam’s architecture.
There are a couple of framerate dips throughout the video, but by and large, it’s an impressive upgrade. It’s exactly what fans would want out of a proper PS5 upgrade for Bloodborne, which doesn’t seem like much to ask for given the game is 7 years old. It should also be noted that FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki has talked before about disliking sequels because of their inherent limitations. Aside from the Dark Souls trilogy, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring are not likely to get numbered sequels.
So, Bloodborne 2—for better or worse—feels like a limited possibility, meaning either a proper upgrade, remaster, or remake are the likeliest scenarios for Bloodborne’s future…at some point. At the same time, Sony also owns the IP and has been open about moving more of its games to PC; a Bloodborne PC port, then, doesn’t seem to be out of the question.
Regardless, FromSoftware’s catalog is one of the moved beloved in gaming, and to see Bloodborne running at 4K 60 FPS is tantalizing. It’s uncertain how much activity Bloodborne will see over the next few years, but it stands to reason that FromSoftware is not stopping its tried-and-true formula for Soulsborne games.
Bloodborne is available now for PS4.
